"Revenge Porn" Legislation introduced in California
California State Senator Anthony Cannella (R-Modesto) has introduced SB 255, legislation to protect victims of non-consensual pornography, revenge porn or cyber-rape. It would make it a misdemeanor, punishable by up to a year in jail, for someone to share electronic nude photos without the consent of the person in the picture.
There is a hearing before the Public Safety Committee at the Capitol on June 4, 2013. I will be there to speak in support of this law.
